Q: What is cylinder bumping?
A: A special key is used, and a person with little
or no skill can bypass a cylinder quietly in seconds.
There is no sign of forced entry with this technique
and therefore, most insurance companies will try to
use this to their advantage
Q: Why composite GRP?
A: Our doors are manufactured from compression
moulded fibre-
glass one piece skins. These are tough, stable, durable,
very low maintenance and provide long warranties
Q: Will I have to paint or stain my door, like a
timber door?
A: Not for at least fifteen years in normal everyday
use - however, you can paint or stain over at any
time without effecting your warranty.
Q: How do I clean/look after my door?
A: We provide a maintenance guide. We also include
an easy to use instruction guide on your new multipoint
lock, with every door order.
Q: How long will it take to install the door from
an order?
A: We normally quote four weeks, as each door
is manufactured bespoke to your property. Please take
into consideration the additional time needed to manufacture
your glazing choice.
Q: Can I still have a yale lock on my door?
A: We can still use a multipoint lock and use
a split spindle. You still have the security of a
multipoint lock with a "yale lock" facility.
Q: I am concerned about security, how can I make
my door safer? I have heard of problems with the cylinders.
A: There are various options too many to list
here. We have different cylinders - some that break
off at the door edge if anyone tries to gain access
by breaking the cylinder. This will stop anyone gaining
access, but you can still use the door and the cylinder
is easily replaced.
Q: How long does it take for someone to call out
to survey and give a quotation?
A: We always arrange a convenient time for you.
Normally within 48 hours - we also bring door and
glass samples.
Q: How long have you been supplying GRP composite
doors?
A: We have been supplying GRP composite doors
for over ten years now, but they have been used in
the USA for over 30 years.
Q: Why are your PVC-u composite doors more economic
than GRP?
A: PVC-u is cheaper than fibreglass, and is a
manufactured using a completely different process.
The PVC-u sub frame is also cheaper than structural
plastic. Doors are only available in white and the
door is guaranteed for ten years and not twenty-five.
